The Foodie – Andrew Wong’s ‘Kym’s’ Comes Calling

Andrew Wong Kyms table set with foodHello fellow foodies! I’ve got some exciting news regarding a new restaurant coming your way very, very soon.

Acclaimed chef Andrew Wong – owner of the much revered A Wong – will soon be opening a brand new establishment. His latest venture, called Kym’s, is slated to launch in September and will be much like his current restaurant, focusing on producing dishes based around Andrew’s own interpretation of classic Chinese plates.

However, Kym’s will have a slight twist. Where Andrew has focused on creating his own style and flair inspired by different gastronomic regions in China, here he wants to tell the story of his own personal journey and the community he was brought up in. This is highlighted in the fact that Kym’s was the name of Andrew’s parents’ restaurant over 30 years ago.

Kym’s will be located in the heart of Bloomberg’s new European headquarters in the City of London and will feature a menu with a selection of light bites including Yunnaneese lemongrass salad to sharing type platters such as traditional crispy duck, and pancakes and plum sauce. Further classics featured on the menu will be the poached soy chicken and a dessert called ‘Chinatown’… a pineapple bun with custard.
In addition, Kym’s will also offer a “grab and go” menu during lunch service, perfect for those who are a rushed of their feet a little.

The restaurant will impressively cater to up to 120 guests over two floors alongside an entrance bar with a capacity to hold up to 30 guests. The restaurant will also be available for parties and functions for groups and functions of up to 50 guests (this space is located on the mezzanine level).

A selection of beer and wine as well as an array of mouth-watering traditional cocktails will be served to compliment with the delicate flavours and textures that Kym’s has to offer.

Fun at Fucina

Fucina, located in Marylebone, is celebrating this never ending glorious British summer of 2018 by bringing the delights of Italy’s Amalfi coast region, famed for its tranquil waters and picturesque hilltop views, straight to the city. Fucina will bring some of that Italian spirit to the restaurant with a bright, new contemporary menu.

Diners can expect a variety of Italian delights, including a wonderfully refreshing prawn tartare with chilli, dandelion pesto, and basil; fresh homemade seafood pasta with clams, mussels and yellowtail; the famous Amalfi lemon risotto with sea bass; and an Amalfi lemon brioche with citrus and sour cream, to name just a few.
There will also be an introduction of an ‘Amalfi Hour’ where guests can sip on a selection of cracking cocktails and sample traditional antipasti’s featuring spinach and goat’s cheese crocchette and Parma ham cracker with truffle crema.

And for cocktail lovers, popular Italian amaretto liquor Dissarano has partnered with Fucina to concoct three outstanding new drinks fit for the summer season. Why not go for the Disaronno Spritz, a sumptuous mix of Disaronno prosecco, mint, and Amalfi lemon sorbet scooped on top, or Cafe Concerto, with Tia Maria, and La Dolce Vita with apricot, lemon juice, egg white and almonds.
