It’s London-brews-only at popular City bar and pub
The good people at The Arbitrager on Throgmorton Street in the heart of the City of London certainly take their beer seriously. So seriously, in fact, that you’ll find nothing but London-made brews being served up in this excellent bar located in historic Drapers’ Hall.
The Arbitrager prides itself on bringing in only small batches of beer at any one time, ensuring a continuously rotating selection. And to ensure guests never suffer from jaded palates, beers are served not by the pint, but in smaller measures of 1/3 and 2/3 of a pint to allow for a little sampling (larger ‘growlers’ are also available for take outs). Among the London-based breweries featured are popular brands such as Mondo, Gipsy Hill and Long Arm Brewing.
Other beverages on offer include a large selection of locally brewed ciders and spirits. Of the many spirits on offer, gin remains the bar’s most popular, especially when served up with their homemade tonic. Also worth sampling are the bar’s famous punches. One of the best, if you can catch it (their punch offerings change as frequently as their other beverages), is the aptly named Bold Lady. Made using Bold London Spirit, spices, a dash of citrus and lady grey tea, it packs a pleasant wallop and can also be purchased to take home.
Finally, be sure to add a charcuterie board with its tasty London-sourced cheeses and meats, the perfect accompaniment to any of the many fine beverages served up at The Arbitrager.
